This bright basement renovation in Keswick, ON was an interesting job. First we cut put a bigger window and created an egress window with a window well. The window was 36 inches by 3o inches. This created a much brighter room. The client wanted the window in the bedroom. We added 4 inch LED pot lights throughout with dimmers in some areas. We also added soundproof insulation in the ceilings to create a sound barrier between the main floor and the basement. We painted the walls with premium Benjamin Moore paints. For the flooring we first put down Dricore insulated subfloors . After the installation of subfloors we put down a light grey 6mm vinyl plank floor. After the flooring we did a modern style 5 inch beveled cut baseboard with shoe moldings. We also did a vinyl step plank on the stairs. We matched the stairs with the floors to create a seamless flow throughout. We painted a dark green accent wall where the client was to have his sound tv and entertainment station. And finally for the washroom the client only wanted a powder room. For the tiles we did a 12×24 tile on the floor. We also did 2 accent walls with the same tiles. The wall behind the toilet and the will adjacent to it where the vanity is. We put in a modern grey vanity with a custom sized quartz countertop that was cut to size by our countertop fabricators. The client chose a beautiful gold color for the finishes. Gold vanity faucet, gold vanity light, gold towel and toilet paper holder. Also for a nice touch we did a tile baseboard with a gold trim to finish it off. The project was finished on time and within the budget. The client was thrilled with the entire project and how it came out. Another successful project wrapped up by Yorkland Homes.
