Luxury Basement Renovation – Richmond Hill, Ontario

We recently completed a high-end basement renovation in Richmond Hill, ON, transforming 1,100 sq ft into a fully functional, luxurious living space. From custom oak stairs to a built-in gym and spa-like bathroom, this project is loaded with premium features designed for comfort, style, and practicality. This project started out with me visiting the clients for only the basement renovation, but they wanted me to come back and also give them a price for there upstairs Master bathroom. That project and pictures will be posted right after this one.

Custom Oak Stairs & Modern Flooring

As you enter the space, you’re welcomed by custom-built oak stairs and railings with sleek black iron spindles. These stairs give the space a warm yet modern vibe right from the start. For flooring, we installed Dricore subfloors paired with luxury vinyl planks, providing both durability and moisture protection — ideal for basement environments. The oak stairs where color matched to the vinyl flooring by our professional stairs installers.

LED Lighting & Accent Wall Design

Lighting played a major role in this design. The space features pot lights throughout, as well as LED backlighting behind the custom TV wall unit and floating shelves. We also built three custom accent walls, each with its own texture and color scheme, adding depth and visual interest to different areas of the basement.

Kitchenette, Fireplace & Home Gym

We installed a clean and compact IKEA kitchenette, perfect for hosting or creating a secondary living space. The entertainment area includes a custom electric fireplace and a sleek LED-backlit TV wall unit. On top of that, there’s a dedicated home gym section — functional, open, and built to motivate.

3-Piece Bathroom with Spa Vibe

The 3-piece basement bathroom features 24×24 tiles, a custom glass shower, and a floating vanity for a clean, high-end look. Every detail was designed with comfort and elegance in mind.
